Barylko Y. Upbringing of Patriotism in Pupils of Secondary Schools of the USA.

The dissertation deals with an actual pedagogical problem of today - studying and generalization of experience in the field of upbringing patriotism in pupils of secondary schools in one of the most developed countries of the world - the United States of America. On the basis of careful study and analysis of a great number of literary sources, devoted to the development of patriotism in pupils of secondary schools in the USA an evolution of the concept "patriotism" in the American pedagogy was considered, its modern interpretation was determined, a retrospective review of coming info being of patriotic upbringing in secondary school was done, up-to-date concepts of patriotic upbringing in pupils of secondary schools was analyzed, the role of national values in fostering the sense of patriotism in the Youth was shown, the aim, the content and pedagogical technologies of their realization in an educational process in school and pupils' extra-curricula activities was disclosed. An experience of patriotic upbringing in pupils of secondary schools and determination of possibilities of its use in Ukrainian schools with regard to traditions, modern demands and tendencies in the field of patriotic upbringing of the growing generation of Ukrainian citizens was generalized.
