Doletskaja S. Patriotic education of junior schoolchildren in the process of local history teaching

In the dissertation the problem of patriotic education of junior schoolchildren in the process of local history teaching has been investigated. Principles, functions, methods and forms of local history teaching as means of patriotic education; criteria and levels of patriotic education have been specified. The means of local history that can be used in patriotic education of junior schoolchildren have been classified: "family genealogy", museum pedagogics, regional trips, and participation in forming of the school museum. The author has developed the classification of forms of local history teaching - a lesson in the museum, a museum excursion, participating in thematic exhibitions, making exhibits for the school museum under the guidance of a teacher, educational trips. The advantage of the stated above forms is their ability to be integrated with other school subjects. The model of patriotic education of junior schoolchildren by means of local history teaching has been worked out and scientifically proved.
