Essay

The thesis is devoted to a comprehensive research of peculiarities in translating military documentation pertaining to UN and NATO Peace Operations. The military documents of UN and NATO Peace Operations are organized into a system. The classification of these documents is devised to include both their English names and corresponding Ukrainian equivalents. A new definition of military translation is suggested. The genre structure and schematic representation of the peacekeeping discourse are elaborated and complemented with its definition. The category of military realia is supplemented and specified in accordance with the specifics of the peacekeeping discourse.
