Essay

On the model of chronic alcohol intoxication it was established that pharmacotherapy of structural and functional disorders with introduction of cerebrocurin (0,06 mg/kg), cerebrolisin (4 mg/kg) and cortexin (0,5 mg/kg) significantly (p<0,05) stimulates the processes of learning and memory, reduces the symptoms of neurological deficit, stimulates energy production in the brain, inhibits the formation of oxidative and nitrosative stress, increases the size, density and content RNA of neurons and glial cells in CA-1 area of the hippocampus, the expression of the antiapoptotic protein bcl-2. The most pronounced cerebroprotective action showed the drug cerebrocurin. The mechanism of energy protective actions of cerebrocurin due to his ability to restrict the development of mitochondrial dysfunction, increase expression genes of early response and, thereby, activate the compensatory shunts of energy production, increasing the survival of neurons and preservation of cognitive functions of the brain. Due to increasing the expression of protein bcl-2 cerebrocurin reduces apoptotic changes of neurons.
