Manko M. Optimization of sugar beet cooperatives considering risk

The thesis presents the theoretical synthesis and new solution of a scientific problem concerning an optimization of full closed technological sugar production cycle planning of sugar-beet cooperatives, taking into consideration the risks so it creates the possibilities to increase the efficiency of its activity and is urgent for sugar-beet subcomplex and the national economy in general. The drawbacks of the sugar-beet subcomplex reform and restructuring are identified, and the need for farms and sugar factories cooperation, along with their coordinated activities planning is mentioned as well. The efficiency of the legal form of cooperation in the form of sugar-beet cooperatives is proved. The potential opportunities of increasing the competitiveness of sugar production in the global market are established. The analysis of existing approaches to the modeling of planning sugar production is conducted. Optimization economic-mathematical models of complex planning cultivation, harvesting, transporting and processing of sugar-beet in view of risk were developed and implemented. The model of investment and reinvestment of sugar production was adapted to the conditions of the sugar-beet cooperative in the face of uncertainty, and the analysis results of sugar production optimizing in view of economic risk were executed. The obtained results of research can be used in developing plans for cooperative activities under uncertainty, expediency in modern technologies of cultivation and sugar beet processing investment, calculation of economic risks.
