The thesis investigates the problem of social adaptation of pupils of 9-11 forms in the teaching and educational environment at the rural areas comprehensive secondary school. Psycho-pedagogical aspects of the problem are disclosed; age peculiarities and psychological objective laws of child development in early youth period are characterized; the essence of the notion "social adaptation of senior pupils" is specified; the criteria, indices and levels of social adaptation of pupils of 9-11 forms in the teaching and educational environment of the rural area comprehensive secondary school are developed and characterized; a functional model of senior pupils' social adaptation is developed and experimentally checked; pedagogical conditions of social adaptation of pupils of 9-11 forms in the teaching and educational environment of the rural area comprehensive secondary school are defined and scientifically substantiated.
