Essay

The thesis deals with a complex and systematic analysis of the essence and experience of folk upbringing in family pedagogy of Scotland as a component of a social and pedagogical phenomenon. The country taken for research has considerable achievements, great experience and deep-rooted traditions of family upbringing based on national and common to humanity values. On the basis of analysis of scientific and pedagogical literature, state materials and documents devoted to family upbringing in Scotland the problem of formation and development of the family and family upbringing has been analyzed. In the thesis a profound analysis of Scottish cultural traditions and their influence for the development of family upbringing has been carried out. The specific character of modern Scottish family has been determined. The aim, the essence, principles, forms, major trends and methods of family upbringing in Scotland in the modern period have been revealed and investigated. A comparative analysis of the systems of family upbringing in Scotland and in Ukraine has been given. It is disclosed and recommended to use the most perspective upbringing forms, methods and ways which are recognized in Scotland as effective to the same upbringing activity in Ukrainian families.
