Essay

The dissertation is devoted to study of pharmacoepidemiological situation in Ukraine connected with adverse reactions caused by medical application of NSAIDs such as diclofenac and nimesulide. Anonymous survey of 500 patients with locomotor system pathology was carried out for estimation of patient compliance as a factor influencing on adverse reactions emergence and development. All of this outpatients took non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (in accordance with established standards) after hospital discharge. 105 patients had adverse reactions due to such non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs as diclofenac (61.9%), nimesulide (36.1%), meloxicam (1.0%), and celecoxib (1.0%). Gastrointestinal disorders as adverse reactions to diclofenac and nimesulide took place in 91.8% patients (60.2% caused by diclofenac and 31.6% - by nimesulide). Ukrainian physicians sent the cards-messages about ADR 1098 ADR chances due to medical application of diclofenac and 416 ADR chances due to medical application of nimesulide in 1996-2010 which have been analysed. The analysis of diclofenac and nimesulide ADR data testifies to a high level of type B ADR occurrence due to medical application of these drugs in Ukraine.
