Essay

The dissertation is dedicated to the evaluation of efficiency of influence atorvastatin, atenolol, hydrochlortiazid together with calcium and vit.D3 on bone tissue, in order to increase safety of administration. The effect was studied on model of osteoporosis. We observed three groups of female rats: young (6-month-old), old (18-month-old) and rats subjected to ovariectomy (OVX), after one month administration only calcium and vit.D3, and calcium and vit.D3 with atorvastatin, atenolol, hydrochlortiazid respectively. Measurement of bone mineral density at various skeletal sites in the animals were obtained by dual energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA). We also have researched markers of bone metabolism in blood and urine. We learnt that atenolol with calcium and vit.D3 administration didn't showed any changing in BMD total of OVX rats. Whereas BMD total of old animals has decreased. According to blood and urine markers activity of destructive anabolism in all groups of rats with osteoporosis dropped.
