Minevych H. Formation and Merchandize Evaluation of Consumer Properties of Underwear Cottons

The Thesis deals with the discovery of high-priority ways of improving underwear cotton wear resistance by means of dedicated selection of environmentally friendly compounding and process parameters when bleaching and forming such cottons, and performing merchandize evaluation of their consumer properties. The expediency of use of cold cotton bleaching with hydrogen peroxide and sodium hypochlorite providing for their high degree and whiteness and leaving no mechanical and hygienic impairment was grounded. New wear kinetics results were obtained for the bleached underwear cottons using the developed compounds as being exposed to various factors (abrasion, multiple washing). Mathematical models were developed and proposed to describe the dependence of certain cloth indexes on washing cycles thus allowing predicting cotton product wear resistance. Integral Q-factor of the cotton underwear was assessed while applying a desirability function in order to discover their optimum alternatives. Feasibility and economic effectiveness of implementing the research findings in the textile production in Ukraine was proved.
