Essay

The thesis focuses on a complex study of the peculiarities of Ukrainian debitive modality rendering in English publicistic discourse translation. As a result of the analysis conducted, it was established that the choice of translation strategies is determined by such factors as the type of a discourse, communicative-pragmatic orientation of the text, orientation towards the certain target audience. The results demonstrate that the debitive modality of the Ukrainian publicistic discourse is rendered into English with the help of both the interpretive model of translation and transcoding realized through complex translation transformations.
