The thesis is devoted to the study of lipid-lowering properties of derivatives of 7-?-hydroxy-?-(mono- and dichlorphenoxy)propylxanthines in the experiment with three types of modeled experimental hyperlipidemy. It was established that the investigated derivatives of 3-methylxanthine have hypolipidemic and antioxidant activity: the activity at a health care regime do not differ from the effect of atorvastatin. The analysis of "structure-action" has established that the presence and strength of the lipid-lowering, antioxidant activity depends on the nature of the deputy for a 3-methylxanthine core of the molecule. The in vivo experiments revealed a new compound: 7-(2?-hydroxy-3?-izopropoxypropyl)-3-methyl-8-(4?-phenylpiperazin-1?-yl)xanthine (which has been named hydropropylxanthine), that had hypolipidemic and antioxidant activity greater than that of comparators - atorvastatin, phenofibrate and nicotinic acid. Obtained experimental data allow to consider hydropropylxantin a substance that needs profound preclinical researches to create a potential hypolipidemic remedy on its basis
