The dissertation is devoted to the evaluation of the role of proinflammatory enzymes (cyclooxygenase-2, lipoxygenase-5, inducible NO-synthase) in the mechanisms of cytoprotection/ulceration in gastric mucosa under the influence of hexapeptide thymohexin.. It was revealed that the cytoprotective properties of thymohexin are mediated by its inhibiting effect on iNOS activity, nitrite anion production and lipoperoxidation processes in epinephrine- and indomethacin-induced destructive lesions of the stomach.
