Essay

Object: continuing teacher education in China; aim: to implement a holistic analysis of postgraduate teacher education in China to identify its features and outline the possibilities of using positive experience of its functioning in Ukraine; methods: analysis of scientific literature and authentic materials, systematization, terminological analysis, historical, structured systems, comparative methods, observation, conversation, interview; novelty: the genesis of postgraduate teacher education in China was analyzed, the author’s periodization of its historical development was offered; the structure, features of managing, financing and activity of educational institutions of the modern postgraduate teacher educational system in China were revealed, its theoretical basis and current trends were characterized, the content, methods, forms of educational process organizing and controlling by course and school-based training models were reflected; the similarities and differences between systems of postgraduate teacher education in China and Ukraine were identified, the possibilities of using the positive experience of China in the postgraduate teacher education reforming in Ukraine were outlined; results: the official documents of China and the Ukrainian equivalents of Chinese terms in postgraduate education were introduced into scientific circulation; branch: general pedagogics and history of pedagogics
