Essay

The method of linguopoetical analysis of the mythological intertext is based on an integrated approach that combines information of the mythological worldview of ancient Greeks and data of intertextual comparison of units of the mythic connotation on different levels of semantic isotopy in literary text. It is proved that the mythopoetical worldview generates an original author's image via the contamination of Аnimistic and Neolithic semantics, implicated in the semantic isotopy of Maeterlinck's texts, by the main idea of passage from the negatively marked megaconcept LIFE to the positively marked megaconcept DEATH as well as in Maeterlinck's aesthetic conception of "tragic optimism" that is a specific semiotic phenomenon in symbolist mythopoetics.
