Zhukov S. Zemski schools of the Kharkiv province (1865-1919)

The object of the research – schools of the Kharkiv province in 1865-1919. The dissertation purpose – on the basis of the complex analysis of the literature and sources to illuminate process of formation and functioning of a network of zemski schools in the Kharkiv province in 1865-1919, to reveal its specificity, tendency and law. Methods: analysis, synthesis, comparison, analogy, generalization; historical-genetic, historical-comparative, historical-typological, his-torical-system, method of historical periodization. Scientific novelty: for the first time in historiography the complex research of formation and development of zemski initial schools in the Kharkiv province in 1865-1919 is carried out, the stages of development of a network of zemski schools are covered, the dynamics of changes of the social-demographic characteristics of the schoolboys and teachers is analyzed, the system of preparation of the pedagogical staff is characterized, the consequences of functioning of zemski schools in the Kharkiv province are determined. Practical value of research: the results of work can be used in researches on a social history, history of education and zemski self-management; by development of educational courses on a history of Ukraine, history of the Ukrainian cul-ture, special courses on a history of Slobozhanschina etc. Sphere of use: higher educational institutions.
