Object: development of comparative pedagogics as a branch of scientific knowledge; objective: systematization of the theoretical and generalization of experience of comparative studies in Ukraine in the first half of the twentieth century; methods: analysis, systematization, classification, chronological, historical, logical; novelty: defined and scientifically substantiated the main stages of development of comparative pedagogics as a science, the peculiarities of its formation on each of the selected stages; generalized the main directions of the organization of the comparative - pedagogical research, identified forward-looking tendencies of the further development of comparative pedagogics as a science in Ukraine; results: theoretical positions and the conclusions of the study may be implemented in the system of vocational and post-graduate pedagogical education; in the writing of materials on the history of pedagogy and comparative pedagogy; in the process of organization of scientific-research work of students, postgraduates and teachers; branch - general pedagogics and history of pedagogics.
