Essay

The subject is the oeuvre of teachers of the Kiev ecclesiastical academy of the second half of the XIX and at the beginning of the XX century; the aim is to identify and systematize the scientific and educational ideas, to generalize the experience of teachers' activity of the Kiev ecclesiastical academy within the period under consideration for creative use of the achievements of the past in the current conditions; the general scientific, historical, comparative and comparable methods are used; the novelty is that scientific and pedagogical ideas of the teachers of the Kiev ecclesiastical academy in a specific historical period are highlighted and systematized for the first time; the contribution of the teachers in the educational theory is characterized; the stages of teachers' activity of the Kiev ecclesiastical academy in the indicated period are grounded; the ways of creative usage of educationally valuable ideas and experience of teachers of the Kiev ecclesiastical academy of the studied period in the current conditions are defined. The little-known archival documents (10) are introduced in the scientific use; the results are the theoretical propositions obtained in the process of scientific research, the actual material is approved by the author during the seminars for the course "Pedagogy" at the Ukrainian language and literature department named after G.F. Kvitka-Osnovyanenko of the H.S. Skovoroda Kharkiv National Pedagogical University; field is pedagogics
