Lyapunova N. Structure, Semantics and Pragmatics of Word-Formative Internet Neologisms in the Spanish Language

This thesis focuses on structural, semantic and pragmatic aspects of word-formative Internet neologisms in the Spanish language. The research provides a theoretical basis for the study of word-formative neologisms in Spanish Internet slang. A methodology for structural, semantic, functional and pragmatic analyses of new Internet coinages has been elaborated. The notion of the word-formative Internet neologism has been clarified. The research singles out lexical and semantic characteristics of the Internet slang and determines its dominant word-forming models. Pragmatic peculiarities of the Internet coinages have been established and their main communicative functions have been characterized.
