Korovenkova O. Pharmacological profile of the effect of Tiocetam on the renal function and water-salt metabolism

The thesis deals with rescarch of the mechanisms of the influence of Tiocetam on the excretory, ion- and acid-regulation renal functions and on the basic parameters of the water-salt metabolism. The study has been carried out on rats with various hydration of organism, different duration of the drug introduction, state of the neurohumoral mechanisms of water-salt homeostasis regulation. It has been corroborated for the first time that Tiocetam manifests a mild diuretic action, increases the excretion of sodium and potassium ions. The maximum diuretic and saluretic effect of the drug begins to show from the 4th day of course of the drug application under the conditions of spontaneons dieresis. The functional condition of the kidneys get normalized for during the first 3 days atter withdrawing Tiocetam introduction. The saluretic action of the drug manifests more essentially under the condition of the organism's hyperhydration. Tiocetam diminishes in the organism totel content of water with a distribution of its extracellular sector, decreasing the volume of the interstitial one.
