Shyyanova I. Means of Functional Sentence Perspective rendering in Spanish-Ukrainian translation.

The thesis provides a complex investigation of the peculiarities of Functional Sentence Perspective (FSP) rendering in translation from Spanish into Ukrainian. The main areas of FSP theory application in modern Translation Studies are determined, in particular, from the point of view of FSP relevance for sentence- and text-oriented studies. Main approaches to FSP analysis applied in Spanish-Ukrainian and other partial theories of translation are treated. Symmetric and asymmetric features of FSP means in Spanish and Ukrainian are revealed. The word order is analyzed as the main means of FSP rendering in translation, as well as other grammatical and lexical means that form the periphery and make the sentence more expressive. Linguistic premises and translation techniques of word order using are described. Use of lexical rhematizers is analyzed on the example of focus particles. Their correlation with functionally comparable source-text FSP means (lexical, lexico-grammatical and syntactical), as well as cases of their context-conditioned addition in translation are examined.
