Object of Research: environmental movement of school-age youth in Ukrainian Institutions of Secondary Education in the second half of the XXth century; subject of Research: main principles, content, directions and forms of the environmental movement of school-age youth in Ukrainian Institutions of Secondary Education in the second half of the XXth century; methods: theoretical historical and pedagogical analysis and generalization of literature on history, philosophy, psychology, pedagogy, that has made it possible to systematize the scientific data on the environmental movement of school-age youth in its historical development; contrastive analysis of archival and historical-pedagogical sources, legislative acts, methodological materials, results of sociological studies with the aim of obtaining objective data on the problems of development of the environmental movement of school-age youth in Ukrainian Institutions of Secondary Education; chronological method in order to ascertain the process of progressive development of the environmental movement of school-age youth in dynamics, time and sequence; studying and generalization of the leading pedagogical experience; aim of the research: to perform an integral analysis and reveal the peculiarities of the development of the environmental movement of school-age youth in Ukrainian Institutions of Secondary Education within the period under consideration, define the perspectives of the development of the environmental movement of school-age youth in Ukraine in accordance with the requirements of the modern world; Originality of dissertation (scientific novelty) and theoretical significance of the data obtained is that for the first time: an attempt has been made to define the category "environmental movement of school-age youth", systematize and extend the data on the development of the environmental movement of school-age youth in Ukrainian Institutions of Secondary Education in the second half of the XXth century; the main stages in the development of the environmental movement of school-age youth in Ukrainian Institutions of Secondary Education in the second half of the XXth century have been defined and described; the scientific data on the environmental movement of school-age youth in Ukrainian Institutions of Secondary Education in the second half of the XXth century have been extended and supplemented.
