Essay

The thesis presents the theoretical generalization and a new approach to an important and urgent task, which is manifested in the form of learning and generalization of American experience in content, forms and methods implementing of multicultural schooling and education of elementary school students and clarification the possibilities of its use in national educational practice. The factors of multicultural component in U.S. schooling have been found; the specificity of multicultural component of American education as a compulsory component of the National Curriculum in USA has been characterized; the main types of multicultural programs in American schooling have been singled out. The content and nature of the basic concepts of "multicultural education of elementary school children", "multicultural curriculum" have been defined. New facts, ideas, and statements relating to multicultural schooling and education of elementary school children in multicultural environment have been introduced into scientific usage. Practical recommendations concerning the application of US experience of multicultural education of elementary school students in Ukrainian elementary schools have been developed by the author on the administrative level and the level of educational establishments.
