Essay

The dissertation highlights the exposure of students' values and personal meanings of life formation tendencies in higher educational institutions, developing technics of values and meanings formation and proving their effectiveness in high school. Essence, structure and features of values and meanings of life are examined, experience of values and meanings based upbringing implementation in high school is shown, concepts of 'values' and 'participation' are specified, as long as 'personal meanings of life' concept is defined, the theoretical model (structure, components, indexes, criteria) of values and meanings of life and methodical base of its separate constituents research as well as the mechanism of values and personal meanings of life formation through youth participation are elaborated. Experimental research results (according to preparatory and verifying experiments) prove the tendencies of students' values and meanings of life forming as well as show the level of their formation. Interconnection between indexes of values and personal meanings of life formation, sources of values and meanings, personal qualities of students is checked experimentally. In the forming experiment the program of the special course is created and approved. It takes into account and technologically instruments realization of organizational and methodic system basic principles of values and personal meanings of life forming in conditions of high school.
