Object: process of esthetic self-education of the students of universities: aim: to substantiat theoretically and prove experimentally the efficiency of the pedagogical conditions of the esthetic self-education of the students of pedagogical universities in the process of collective musical and performing activity, methods: analysis of scientific literature, generalization, systematization, pedagogical observation, questionnaire, interview, testing, self-evaluation and inter-evaluation, educational experiment, methods of mathematical statistics; novelty: the efficiency of pedagogical conditions of esthetic self-education of students of pedagogical universities in the process of collective musical and performing activity was substantiated theoretically and checked experimentally; results: the perspective program of esthetic self-education is for the students of pedagogical universities, the project "Regulations about the Opera studio of Institute of Culture and Arts of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University", the educational-methodical resources of the library of the Opera studio were created; branch: theory and methodology of education
