Object: the process of social adaptation of rural youth in a higher educational institution; aim: theoretically substantiate, substantially develop and experimentally check the socio-pedagogical conditions for the social adaptation of rural youth to study in the university; methods: analysis and systematization of literature, questionnaire, interview, observation, testing, expert estimation and leadership self-evaluation, socio-pedagogical experiment, methods of mathematical statistics; novelty: theoretically substantiated and experimentally verified the effectiveness of socio-pedagogical conditions for the social adaptation of rural youth to study in a higher educational institution; results: developed and introduced Program of social adaptation of the students of the first courses and a specially developed complex „Socio-pedagogical support of social adaptation of rural youth to study in a higher educational institution”, which includes the themes of the supervisory hours, their information and methodological support, socio-psychological and adaptation training, instructions for teachers on socio-oriented games and lessons in the form of didactic theatre; field – social pedagogy.
