The thesis covers the developing of the methodological approaches to the evaluation of population differentiation by living conditions; the category of living conditions is specified as complex of characteristics needed for living and are represented average standard of living in the society; the living conditions components are determined on the basis of scientific researches analysis; comparative analysis of different approaches to normal living conditions studies based on deprivation conception is realized; methodological principals of the evaluation of population differentiation by living conditions is developed; the Ukraine's population deprivations by the principal components is analyzed; the population differentiation estimation by the deprivation degree is realized in accordance to methodological approaches suggested; the comparison of differentiation by living conditions and income inequality is conducted; predictive estimates of differentiation by living conditions based on microsimulations is developed; the determinants of differentiation by living conditions is defined, and the system of steps for reduction of deprivation rate among different strata of society is suggested.
