Essay

First in home social-philosophical literature tolerance is examined as the principle of the development of civil society. The author of the dissertation exposes the methodological principles researches of tolerance and civil society, that develop and co-operate in the modern world. In this work are analysed the value and the features of influence of tolerance on the development of civil society, that provides its self-preservation, survival, recreation. In this work interpretation of the term "tolerance" is improved as the multidimensional difficult phenomenon that has left off to be the problem of one of the spheres of public life, and it has got the status of global sociocultural problem, that shows up in all spheres of society, society on the whole, and also interpretation of the term "civil society" as totality of all citizens, their free associations and the associations bound by public relations that is characterized by the high level of public consciousness and political culture, that are outside the state, its directive adjusting and regulation, but guaranteed and guarded by the state. It is grounded, that the tolerant attitude of all citizens toward the historical traditions of the Ukrainian ethnos, tolerance and openness of Ukrainians to the achievements and the acquisitions of other ethnoss are ponderable pre-condition for the development of civil society. It is marked that only taking into account the principles of tolerance it will be possible to form and realize really active, spiritually rich civil society with high moral potential of every its citizen.
