Essay

Thesis deals with an pharmacological correction of cardiovascular system affected by the calcium channel blockers with the doxorubicin administration. Doxorubicin administration leads to the irreversible necrotic and dystrophic changes in cardiomyocytes with further cardiosclerosis development, vessel wall lesions which are more visible in the early observation period (on the 14th day after injection of doxorubicin) as it was registered in the experiment. Ultrastructural changes in sarcoplazmatic reticulum, mitochondria and myofibrils lead to the alterations of contractile and energetic apparatuses in cardiomyocytes. The experiment results demonstrate a positive impact of calcium antagonist (amlodipine and dimeodipine) on abnormal structural and functional changes caused by doxorubicin and may be the reason to be recommended for clinical trials of standard tumor treatment schemes with anthracycline antibiotics considering cardioprotective action.
