Zhuravliova O. Sense Harmonization in Translation of Religious Texts

The thesis is devoted to the examination of the sense-based principles of the English modern Christian Protestant texts’ rendering into Ukrainian. The translation space conception as for the translation of the modern Christian Protestant texts is characterized; the “sense” category in the framework of the modern Christian Protestant text translation space is researched; the notion of the sense space as the synergetic process is introduced. The discourse, cognitive, genre and historical factors which influence the level of the original text sense space harmonious rendering in the text of translation are determined; the level of the religious discourse and its genre and historical background influence on the process of the modern Christian Protestant texts’ sense dominant harmonious transposition into the Ukrainian text of translation is defined. Conceptual principles of the cognitive nature of translation are established. The sense harmonization process in the framework of the translation space conception in the process of translating English modern Christian Protestant texts into Ukrainian is highlighted. Methods for analyzing the level of the original text sense space harmonious rendering in the text of translation is described.
