Object: process of university’ students research activity management; aim: theoretically provide rationalization for and experimentally check the efficiency of the system of activity management of the students scientific society of the university that is focused on the process of solving the problem of objective connection of this management with students’ activity in the research work; methods: analysis, classification and systematization of scientific sources SWOT- analysis, modelling, pedagogical experiment, methods of mathematical statistics; novelty: theoretically provided rationalization for and experimentally checked quaternary system of activity management of the students scientific society of the university in unity of objective, content-related, operationally-pragmatist resultative components, the leading mechanism of functioning of which is the matrix activity management of the students scientific society; results: learning and teaching maintenance for increasing the students scientific society’s leaders managemental competence (the program of intensive course and manual „The Student Scientific Society of Higher Educational Establishment: managemental aspect”) is developed; branch: theory and methodology of education management
