Essay

The thesis focuses on the multi-facet analysis of enological component of language worldview of modern France from pragmalinguistic perspective. The thesis defines the conceptual system of "wine" and enological discourse as a specific type of communicative interaction related to the processes of viticulture, wine-making, distribution and consumption of wine. The research focuses on verbal expression of the components of this conceptual system and their functioning in enological discourse, which are aimed at wine popularizing and advertizing. It is determined that the basic knowledge from the conceptual system of "wine" serves as presuppositions, i.e. the addressee's background knowledge, which serves as a ground for the utterance interpretation and understanding of implicit and explicit information through its propositional meaning of utterance and its sociopragmatic context.
