Suslova M. Concept ISLAM in Spanish and French linguistic cultures.

The thesis focuses on the multifacet description of the concept ISLAM in the material of Spanish and French languages within the framework of cognitive paradigm linguistics. The initial point of the analysis lies in understanding of ISLAM as an imported concept. Its existence in Spanish and French linguistic cultures is signed by etnocultural, historic and cultural and sociopolitical factors. Linguocultural and linguocognitive specifics of the concept's ISLAM content are defined by the concept system where the conceptual domains ISLAMIC RELIGION, ISLAMIC COMMUNITY and ISLAMIC POLITICAL IDEOLOGY as well as their components form a system of close connections and dependences on the ground of cognitive hierarchy. The results of an associative experiment demonstrate common and divergent features of the representation of the concept ISLAM, linguocultural types MUSLIM MAN, MUSLIM WOMAN in Spanish and French linguistic cultures.
