Essay

The thesis is devoted to the psychological conditions of leadership attributes development in future educators (post-graduate students). The work includes the theoretical basis, methodology and findings of the empirical investigation of the problem in question. Features of leadership in the organizations of system of the higher education, its main directions and implementation forms are defined. The author found underdevelopment of the respondents' basic leadership attributes as well as the overall leadership index in future educators. The future educators' overall leadership index was found to correlate with: a) the micro-level factors that included the respondents' organizational and professional characteristics (work and studies combination, positions in the organizations they work in) and socio-demographic characteristics (age, gender, place of birth); b) the mezzo level factors (levels of organizations' development the respondents' worked in). The vast majority of future educators were shown to be willing to undergo special leadership development trainings. The author substantiated the basic types of tasks that required, according to the respondents, leadership skills. The author designed a training 'Psychological conditions of leadership attributes development in future educators'.
