Postoyuk N. Problems of Polytechnic Education and Labour Education in the Scientific-Pedagogical Legacy Sergienka D.L. (1911-1984)

The research deals with problems of polytechnic education and labour upbringing in D. L. Sergienko’s scientific-pedagogical legacy, the Ukrainian lecturer, the director of the Republican station of young naturalists, professor of modern Taras Shevchenko National University of Kiyv. His course of life and social-historical factors of forming as a scientist and a teacher have been researched. The basic periods of his activity (creative searching, military service, scientific-administrative, scientific-teaching) have been defined and leading directions of his activity have been described (coordinating-organizational, methodological, structural-designed, scientific, educational, publishing, teaching). The scientist’s points of view concerning polytechnic education and labour, social useful work of young people, polytechnic teaching of biology have been analyzed. The forming of polytechnic knowledge and skills and organization of work of young naturalists groups have been considered. The importance of D. L. Sergienko’s pedagogical legacy has been proved and the ways of using his ideas in modern educational establishments have been analyzed.
