Essay

The thesis deals with the pharmacological study of a new combined ointment with ethonium and with the comparison of its efficiency with reference medicines – «Inflarax», «Levomekol», «Oflokain-Darnutsya» in the treatment of wounds of the purulent-inflammatory phase of wound process. Ehonium – 2.0 g, thiotriazolin – 2.0 g, lidocaine hydrochloride – 1.0 g are the active components of the new ointment. The ointment is created on the hydrophilic base: PEO-400 – 29.0 g, proxonol-268 – 21.0 g and PG – 45.0 g. The study of antimicrobial effect in vitro of the ointment with ethonium revealed a wide range of action in relation to etalon (S. aureus ATCC 25923, E. coli ATCC 25922, P. aeruginosa ATCC 27853, B. subtilis ATCC 6633, P. vulgaris АТСС 4636 and C. albicans ATCC 885/653) and hospital (S. aureus 23, E. coli 15, P. аeruginosa 39, P. vulgaris 59, K. pneumoniaе 6) strains. In vivo method confirmed the antimicrobial effect of the ointment with ethonium in experimental models of purulent-necrotic process that was contaminated by mono- and mixed infection. The ointment with ethonium showed marked anti-inflammatory effect in the models of acute (thermal paw inflammation, carrageenin, dextran and aerosil induced edema) and subchronic inflammation (turpentine dermatitis). In the model of «tail-flick» the ointment with ethonium showed marked analgesic effect compared to reference medicines. In the model of line sliced wounds and stencil wounds marked wound-healing effect of the ointment with ethonium was compared to reference medicines were proven. According to the established range of pharmacological effects, the ointment with ethonium can be recomended for the treatment of wounds in the chronic inflammatory phase of wound process.
