Object - the system of the USA secondary school teachers' professional development; the aim - to summarize theoretical ideas and practical experience of the USA secondary school teachers' professional development and find out the perspectives for their implementation in Ukraine; methods -general scientific, historical, comparative; novelty - the dissertation is the first to provide a comprehensive analysis of theory and practice of the USA secondary school teachers' professional development; the essence and structure of this system have been analysed; models, content, forms and methods of the process of secondary school teachers' training within this system have been characterized; the stages of secondary school teachers' professional development and their peculiarities in the context of the main aspects of American society life have been determined; the preconditions of setting the system of the USA secondary school teachers' professional development have been singled out; the data concerning specific features of the system of professional development of school teachers in the USA have been further investigated; results - the theoretical and practical data of the research have been used by the author during lectures and practical seminars on "Pedagogy", "Fundamentals of the Art of Teaching", "Comparative Pedagogy", "History of Pedagogy". Theoretical statements and acquired practical experience have to be used for further pedagogical research, for teaching "Pedagogy", "General Pedagogy", "Foreign Language" in higher education institutions of III-IV levels of accreditation, for development of special teaching courses, for writing teaching manuals and textbooks on Pedagogy, for preparing course, master degree and diploma papers; field - pedagogy.
