Essay

Mechanisms of actoprotective action of metabolitotropic compounds derivatives of succinic acid (yakton, mexidol) and taurine (kratal) based on the definition of their antihypoxic, antioxidant, mitoprotective, ergogenic, membranoprotective action. It was stated that in hypoxia (hypoxic, haemic, circulatory) yakton, mexidol and taurine influene on parameters of prooxidant-antioxidant homeostasis, as well as prevent disturbances of glycolysis, thiol-disulfide system, content of macroergic compounds, changes of morphological and morphometric indices of nerve tissue, and development of mitochondrial dysfunction. The physical and chemical studies confirm membranotropic action of taurine, but no yakton.
