Object: Object: language training of foreign citizens in Ukraine; goal is to determine the characteristics of the formation and development of language training foreign citizens in Ukraine in mid XX - beginning of XXI century; Methods: historiography, interpretative and analytical analyses, periodization, historical, pedagogical, structural component , empirical; novelty: periods of development of language training of foreign citizens in Ukraine during the period of the mid-twentieth century is defined to the beginning of particular four stages: 1946-1960 - the stage of institutionalization; 1961-1990 - developing ; 1991-2002, crisis ; from 2003 to today - reformationall, the state of language training for foreign citizens in Ukraine is characterized according to the following criteria: organizational, legal, social, economic, human, scientific, methodical and information and communication support; the essence of the concepts "foreign language training of citizens", "organization of language training for foreign nationals”, “organizational system of language training for foreigners "and baseline indicators against which to monitor the quality of language training for foreign citizens in Ukraine today are defined, including : the level of compliance with European standards of language training for foreign nationals, established quality of multicultural educational environment ; level of provision of secondary linguistic identity of foreign nationals; level of implementation of the principles of cross-cultural management in managing language training of foreign citizens; Results: the main provisions may be used in the development of language programs of foreign nationals in accordance with the objectives of integration of Ukraine into the international scientific, educational and cultural spaces, basic indicators of language training for foreigners in Ukraine in the present situation are the basis for the development and implementation of measures to improve work with foreign students as a particular institution of higher education and educational environment of the region / state; material presented are valuable for teachers who work with international students, particularly in their exercise of language training for foreign citizens in the preparation of teaching aids, textbooks, during the sessions for faculty training; Specialization: General Pedagogy and History of Education.
