The dissertational thesis aims to research the French book illumination of the 13–15 centuries as an artistic phenomenon with its own developed system of artistic images and their characteristic art features in a wide historical and cultural, symbolic and mental contexts. The sources of the research include a wide range of iconographic and bibliographical material, which have became the basis for resolving the main tasks of the study.
