Object of research - activities of the Kharkov Mathematical Society of the late XIX - early XX century; subject of research -pedagogical views of Kharkov mathematicians and educators and the main directions of social and educational activities of the Kharkov Mathematical Society; the purpose of research - based on the analysis of scientific, educational and public outreach activities of the members of the Kharkov Mathematical Society of the late XIX - early XX century to identify and to summarize the pedagogical views of Kharkov mathematicians, to determine the direction and results of their social and educational activities; vethods of research - to accomplish the tasks at different stages of the study were applied following the general scientific and historical methods: search and bibliographic, historical genetic, historical and pedagogical, personalistic bibliographic, statistical method of theoretical generalization; scientific novelty of the research is that for the first time highlighted and summarized pedagogical ideas and views of Kharkov mathematicians; described methods and forms of their academic work; identified and summarized forms of social and educational activities of the company; prospects for the creative use of the experience of the members of the HMO in modern conditions defined.
