Essay

The object of the research - the process of the citizen education in the USA; the subject of the research - the theoretical and practical experience of the USA citizen education in the second half of the twentieth century; the purpose of the research - relying on the entire historical and pedagogical analysis to reveal the peculiarities of the USA citizen education within the examined period and define the possibilities of the usage of the positive ideas of the American experience of the citizen education at the native school; the methods of the research: general scientificc - analysis, synthesis, comparison and generalization - for studying of the national and foreign scientists' works, official and legal documents according to the topic of the scientific research; comparative method, which gave an opportunity to compare socially pedagogical facts, phenomena and results of the citizen education at the different stages of its formation and development in the USA; structural method, which made it possible the analysis of the structural components of the citizen education of the USA senior school students within the examined period; interpreter analytical method facilitating the realization of the conceptual analysis of the documental and literature, national and foreign sources with the usage of the methods of the interpretation, systematization, comparison and generalization; searching method used to reveal the efficient and practically valuable experience of the citizen education in the scientific works of the native and foreign authors; the scientific novelty is that for the first time based on the examination of documentary sources and scientific literature there was made the analysis of the theory and practice of the citizen education of the US senior school students and defined its peculiarities (the conceptual basis of the American citizen education is liberalism with the dominating principles of individualism and pragmatism, the main factors of the mentioned conceptual influence are the standards of the citizen education and citizen religion, the defining of the formal and informal ways of the citizen education realization); also there was analyzed the influence of the socially economical, political and socially cultural factors on the citizen education of the US senior school students.The further development was got with the analysis of the methods and forms of the citizen education realization in the American schools.
