Object - the system of development-oriented education of junior school pupils of 60-90s of XX century; the aim - to systematize the development-oriented education theoretical ideas and practice of implementation in the researches and experiments of Kharkiv educationalists of 60-90s of XX century in order to find out and implement their working findings in modern day junior school; methods - systematization, classification, comparative-historical, chronological, logical-structural and retrospective, observational, prognostic; novelty - the dissertation is the first to present an integral analysis of the issues of development-oriented education of junior school pupils in the researches and experiments of Kharkiv educationalists of 60-90s of XX century; the stages in the development of the ideas of junior school pupils' development-oriented education in the researches and experiments of Kharkiv educationalists have been substantiated; the scholars' positions on different aspects of the problem of development-oriented education of junior school pupils have been systematized; the pedagogically efficient for modern day school ideas and pedagogical experience of modern day junior school pupils' development-oriented education organizationhave been revealed, some prognostic tendencies within the researches directed at the development-oriented education in Ukraine have been determined; the theoretical and practical data on the origin and development of ideas of junior school pupils' development-oriented education organization have undergone further investigation; the forms and methods of development-oriented education organization in teaching junior school pupils in Kharkiv have been generalized; results - the research allows to use the positive pedagogical experience of the past in modern school practice for the promotion of junior school pupils' development-oriented education (the content, methods and forms of organization). The new statistic and scientific data (documents and facts (24)) enriching the existing knowledge about the system of development-oriented education of junior school pupils have been introduced for scientific study; field - pedagogy.
