Essay

The thesis is devoted to the study of the effects of probiotic strains on erosive and ulcerative lesions in the gastric mucosa caused by water-immobilization stress. It was found that a mixture of three probiotic strains Bifidobacterium animalis VKL, Bifidobacterium animalis VKB and Lactobacillus casei IMVB-7280 and multistrain probiotic (14 probiotic strains of Lactobacillus, Lactococcus, Bifidobacterium, Propionibacterium genera) possessed the most pronounced effect on the ulcer formation in the stomach under conditions of 14-day administration before stress exposure. It was also observed the efficacy of multistrain probiotic for healing of stress-induced gastric lesions in rats. It was established that effects of probiotics under conditions of stress was associated with their antisecretory properties, with the restoration of pro/antioxidant balance, proinflammatory cytokines reduction and anti-inflammatory cytokines increase, inhibition of the excessive production of corticosteroids and protection against degradation of protective collagen and noncollagen proteins in the gastric mucosa.
