The dissertation is devoted to clinical and experimental study of the pathogenesis of periodontal disease in domestic cats, followed by the scientifically sound development of methods of diagnosis and treatment. It is set that the blood of cats with chronic generalized catarrhal gingivitis and chronic generalized periodontitis registered erythropeniya, loss Hb, leukocytopenia, acidophilia and enhancement ESR. In the blood serum registered hyperproteinemia with hypergammaglobulinemia, increased glucose, malondialdehyde, reduced the activity of catalase. Microbiocoenosis of periodontal pocket of cats with periodontal disease is significantly different from clinically healthy animals and is characterized by the presence of specific periodontopathogenic bacterias. For the first time in the treatment of periodontitis in cats used drug "Collapan". It is proved positive effects of antimicrobial drugs - 0.01% solution miramistin and dental gel "Zubastic". Research confirmed the effectiveness of antibiotics by microorganisms sensitive to periodontal pockets.
