Essay

Object of research – general anesthesia in dogs. The purpose to study – substantiation of combined intravenous anesthesia in dogs of varies age depending on the type of pain response found by computer analysis of heart rate variability. Methods of research - clinical, computer analysis of heart rate variability, hematological, biochemical, hemostasiological. Scientific novelty: there was established heart rate age variability in dogs that reflect the functional activity of the autonomic nervous system. Whereby reasonable combined intravenous anesthesia scheme was developed for operations on somatic and visceral tissues and organs. There was proposed: the use of age dependant heart rate variability monitoring in anesthetized dogs; new scheme of combined intravenous anesthesia in dogs of all ages using Acepromazyne, Ketamine, Propofol or Stadole that provides adequate and predictable anesthesia level for controlling somatic and visceral pain. Introduced: the results are used in scientific and practical work during the teaching of the course of general and special veterinary surgery on the faculties of higher educational institutions of III-IV accreditation levels. Methodological guidelines approved by the scientific and methodical Council of the State Veterinary and Phytosanitary Service of Ukraine and adopted for implementation in the practice of veterinary medicine.
