Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the study of the comparative effectiveness and mechanisms of quercetin preparations „Corvitin” and „Lipoflavon” and their components in the conditions of isolated experimental cerebral brain trauma (CBT) of various severity, alcohol intoxication and in a combination of these states. It was found that „Corvitin” in a dose of 150 mg/kg promotes quick recovery of motor activity in posttraumatic period of an isolated moderate and severe CBT. The most effective drug in experimental isolated traumatic moderate cerebral injury is „Corvitin” (150mg/kg) which minimizes posttraumatic changes in behavior, physical stamina, coordination and neurological deficit. In severe CBT the most effective drug is „Lipoflavon” (370 mg/kg) due to the decrease in mortality and the lowest reduction of the indications mentioned above. It is revealed that phosphatidylcholine (a component of „Lipoflavon”) is involved in realization of cerebroprotective effect. Such activity was not noted in polyvinylpyrrolidone (component of „Сorvitin”). It was found that the most effective drug in isolated alcohol intoxication is „Lipoflavon” in a dose of 370 mg/kg, and when combined with a severe traumatic brain injury it is effective in the dose of 555 mg/kg. „Lipoflavon” in a dose of 555 mg/kg helps maximal preservation of the brain histostructure. Preventive effect of quercetin preparations on the development of mental posttraumatic complications (depression, anxiety, cognitive impairments) was studied. Both medicinal forms of quercetin are realized due to the activation of superoxidedismutase, inhibition the formation of primary products of lipid peroxidation, activation of energy metabolism and normalization of glucose utilization by the brain. Protective influence of „Corvitin” and „Lipoflavon” on the development of posttraumatic endotoxicosis was established (MMS conten). Thus, the obtained experimental results substantiate the appropriateness of the differential use the quercitin preparations „Lipoflavon” and „Corvitin” in traumatic cerebral injury.
