Object - women education during second part of XIX- beginning of XX century; theaim- to analyse theoretical aspects of organization and generalize the data concerning teaching and bringing up activities in Poltava province educational institutions for women during the researched period in order to use efficient achievements of the past in present day educational process; methods - of documents and archive data analysis, general scientific,historical-retrospective,chronological, comparative, of interpretation andprognostic; novelty - the dissertation is the first to provide a comprehensive analysis of teaching and bringing up activities organization in educational institutions for women in Poltava province during second part of XIX- beginning of XX century; the development stages of teaching and bringing up activities organization in Poltava province educational institutions for women during the researched period with reference to state legislation on women education, dynamics in the growing number of women education institutions and improvement of women education quality, transformations in economic, cultural and educational life of the region (the factors that influenced changes in goals, objectives, content, methods and forms of women education) are substantiated; the issues dealing with the role of "zemstva" and philanthropists in the evolution of women education in Poltava province and in women's professional training in educational institutions for women representing national minorities have been specified; results -the substantiated in the research theoretical data and factual material on Poltava province educational institutions for women activities of the period under study have been used for working out the educational course "Creative implementation of content, methods and forms of organization of teaching and bringing up activities in Poltava province educational institutions for women (second part of XIX- beginning of XX century) in Ukraine". The archival materials that have not been analysed by scholars yet have been revealed and are recommended for further analysis (58 units from 10 archival funds); field - pedagogy.
