Essay

The dissertation deals with the theoretical and methodological foundations of socio-geographic research of education system of the region. The concepts of "education", "regional system of education" in respect to human geography are defined. The education functions are analyzed and its noosphere and ideological significance is specified. The methods of region education system socio-geographic research are improved. The dissertation describes historical and geographic, demographic, social and economic factors of the Lugansk region education system. The functional structure analysis of the region education system over the testing period is conducted. On the basis of the cluster analysis a spatial interpretation of the education system of administrative units of Lugansk region similarity is presented. The simulation of the development trajectory of the educational component of the district and urban social geographic system in a multidimensional normed attribute space is conducted; the territorial features of regional education system using the graphic-analytical method of social and geographical objects multidimensional classification are revealed. Lugansk regional subordination districts and cities are grouped by the education system development over the testing period and the ways of the regional education system improvement are suggested.
