The thesis is devoted to the study of speech etiquette in modern French social and political discourse in linguistic and cognitive, communicative and pragmatic aspects. The research elaborates the theoretical basis for studying speech etiquette in modern French social and political discourse; offers the methodology for linguistic and cognitive, communicative and pragmatic approaches to speech etiquette consideration; describes the cognitive organization of etiquette speech acts in stereotypical communicative situations; defines linguistic and pragmatic means of speech etiquette expression in modern French social and political discourse; characterizes speech etiquette as a language and speech tool to realize communicative strategies of politeness; determines the communicative and pragmatic specificity of speech etiquette in modern French social and political discourse.
